Abstract

The Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) refers to the structural condition capable of withstanding operational loads so that it can provide the designed level of structural safety, performance, durability, and supportability. ASIP has been developed by the USAF since 1958 to ensure the reliability and safety of military aircraft structures. Over more than six decades, ASIP has evolved from the safe life philosophy towards damage tolerance and is now applied in digital twin systems on the F-22 and F-35. This paper provides a brief review of the development of ASIP and some of its implementation experiences. In the final section, the paper offers recommendations for the implementation of ASIP in the Indonesian Air Force through collaboration between Koharmatau and ITB in damage tolerance analysis, flight load measurement, and service life extension programs (SLEP) based on Digital ASIP.
