The Air Force Academy (AAU) leverages advancements in information technology, particularly modern Wi-Fi networks, to support military education operations and IoT device integration in a vast campus environment. However, the adoption of Wi-Fi with suboptimal configurations presents serious security challenges, such as weak encryption, default settings, and lack of monitoring systems, making it vulnerable to eavesdropping, data theft, and various cyber attacks (Man-in-the-Middle, packet sniffing, Evil Twin). These threats are exacerbated by the fact that sensitive military data and defense infrastructure heavily rely on wireless networks, as evidenced by data breach incidents in global defense institutions. This research offers a comprehensive solution based on penetration testing at four vital AAU points, using Aircrack-ng on Kali Linux to test and measure the resilience of WPA/WPA2 encryption, as well as real-time attack simulations like deauthentication and dictionary attacks. The resulting recommendations include upgrades to WPA3/WPA2-Enterprise, strong password implementation, disabling WPS, and installing real-time monitoring systems and VPNs. Additionally, cybersecurity awareness is enhanced through cadet training on actual threats and network defense mechanisms. These strategic steps aim to maintain AAU data integrity and national digital defense integration, supporting network security in line with the needs of the Internet of Military Defense Things (IoMDT) era.
